Best way I could start Katelyn’s & Matt’s wedding at Bear Creek Mountain blog post would be from from something Matt said to me a year back when we were doing the engagement session; “Nik, we have some party hard friends and you will love being a part of it” And boy was he right!.
We started our day at Bear Creek Mountain Hotel where the vibe for what was about to come was already in motion. Upbeat old hits playing in the background, champagne passed around we entered the room to be greeted by the security of the bridal party.
#1 NATURAL LOOK MAKEUP
Since shadows play the most important role in perfect photos, same idea applies to face. Doing a natural make up does not mean going light in products, it may actually be the opposite: you will need a number of things to prep your skin for a photoshoot: foundation, conealer, highlight, blush, contour and a finishing powder. The trick, however, is to avoid shades that are darker than your natural skin tone and never forget to apply them to your neck, bust and shoulders if they will be revealed in your photos.
Talk about the CUTEST venue tucked away in the quiet streets of Chester Springs! Alison and Joseph picked The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs to celebrate with their love. Alison and Joseph met under the tree on a perfect fall day to say their "I Do’s.” The whole day was filled with laughter, tears, and dancing - because when you are waiting to walk down the aisle and LIZZO comes on the radio…
What a perfect way to start October!!! A singer bride and a guitar player groom, and epic dance moves with friends and loved ones were just few of the things we loved about Christina & Dan’s wedding day. I mean even the priest had some cool moves!!!! And who will forget the mannequin hands, and the unibrow and the stache…..
I met Aubrey through Jennifer, who I met through Burim over 11 years ago, before I moved to the States. And then I met Charlie through Aubrey, and they asked me to photograph their wedding in Lancaster at The Barn at Silverstone!
Where do I begin! We started our engagement session exactly 1 year from their wedding day in September 2020. Minutes in I could not stop laughing with the giggles and laughters from Leah & Brad. I really didn’t have to work at all or say anything, to get them interacting or posing, they did that all by themselves.
Just 367 days until the I do’s for this incredible couple! Last week we scheduled our engagement session, of course weather changed on us and it started to down pour plus it was windy!
Where do I start!!!! Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania is a historic public garden and educational institution, a little paradise hidden right around the corner from where I live. And to make things even more exciting, we started our day at Chestnut Hill Hotel & Duke’s Barber Shop in my favorite neighborhood.
Saturday we spent the day in the Poconos at Camelback Resort with Simone and Matt and talk about ceremony views! Surrounded by family and friends, Simone and Matt were absolutely adorable and up for almost anything; unfortunately not zip lining down the mountain in full wedding gear!
Well, summer is officially over! And we got to finish it big with Jen & Scott’s wedding.
It is so good to be back! After a couple weeks in Europe and then behind the computer working we are kicking it back in high gear for the second half of the wedding season. This time with the lovely Jason & Jungyeon. I have to say I have been blessed to have an amazing team of people I work with. David, our associate photographer killed it this wedding.
Just the perfect way to start my holidays, photographing the incredible Danielle and Ryan at Union Trust in Philadelphia. From get-go Danielle’s laughter was so contagious, you could feel it ripple through the city blocks of Philly, and the funny jokes from Ryan it was almost impossible to concentrate and photograph without laughter.
There is always a first, and I could not be happier to have photographed my first same sex engagement of Sam & Will. It so happened that it was just a perfect fresh day, as the sun was setting in Philadelphia this past lovely Sunday when we started our session at Drexel Park.
This wedding also had a unique guest, Matt Damon with an “I DO TO” sign, that paid us a short visit and we got to take a couple of pictures
Flare City! Not often do we have the luck to have the sun acting as a lighting assistant and aligned perfectly during the ceremony at Palumbo Park. One dreams for such occasions where we can have sun flaring through our images, enriching the beautiful moments for our Bride and Groom.
A perfect way to start June? Start the day at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco with the bride and groom in Philadelphia, enjoy the summer breeze at Pen’s Landing, Get photobombed by the Pride Parade in Broad Street,
A perfect overcast day with a fresh breeze running through the old city neighborhood of Philadelphia, a perfect way to start the session with Jenn & Earl.
It was apparent , that the love they have for each other goes way back when they were kids. From the days when they would take part in prop acting. It wasn’t until college years that they reconnected over a cup of coffee and their love story lifted off! Hence the plane picture taken right outside the wedding venue, perfectly aligned in between the clouds.
I have lost count of how many times I have photographed weddings at Normandy Farms. One would think that I can just show up right before the wedding starts and slide right into work. But NO! I showed up an hour earlier, with the heat blazing through, together with David we walked the grounds, in search for new light, new angles, new ways to portray the love between Sami & Jesse.
Opa! How the Greek like to say! After a month of not photographing a wedding I felt like there was an Opa every minute throughout the day photographing the astonishing wedding of Christina & Craig.
It’s always a joy when I hear the news that my lovely couples I photographer in the past are growing in family. I don’t often photograph maternity session, but having the chance to catch up with Evisa & Greg at the beautiful scenery in Morris Arboretum was simply a joy I couldn't wait to experience.
One of the most interesting things that have been happening the past year or so in the wedding industry is the number of couples opting for a first look before their ceremony! For those who don’t know what a first look is a moment a few hours before the ceremony where the bride and groom see each other for the first time on the wedding day.
Many wedding photographers now include a free engagement session with the collections that they offer, some have the option to add it on to your collection. Regardless of how each photographer offers engagement session, we will go in-depth about why you should get an engagement session.
One has to look back to see how far the journey! 2018 has been a fantastic year for me & Morina Photography!
